Description

Of all the great designs that J/Boats has offered, the J/35 stands out as a performance IRC & PHRF winner – still to this day. The J35 was first introduced in 1983 and it is no exaggeration that new owners of varying experience and ability stepped aboard, raised the sails and began winning races. Her pure hull form, an easily driven shape free of rule-induced rating modifications that contributed to boats difficult to sail, moderate displacement and long waterline length and an uncomplicated rig produced a forgiving boat with responsiveness and great performance over a wide range of conditions. Easily handled by a family, with plenty of interior space for practical accommodation, she also shares the life of a cruising boat. Her interior layout, with teak and holly floor, and 6’3” headroom, includes sleeping for 6, between the double forepeak berth, port and starboard settees and two large quarter berths. There is a bi-fold teak table that stows against the bulkhead when not in use. When down, it exposes a magazine rack. The head lies between two teak bulkheads that separate the main salon from the forepeak. A solid teak door closes off the head area from the main salon. The port and starboard galley vanities are situated just aft of the settee berths. The port consists of a sink, counter and place for the stove. Across is more counter space and a top-loading ice box with storage beneath both units. The companionway steps remove easily to gain access to the inboard diesel. She sports a double-spreader masthead rig, with inboard shrouds, a fin keel and inboard spade rudder. Lots of upgrades and maintenance completed recently on the boat such as: winches serviced & reseated in 2022, Interior teak refinished 2023, cabin sole refinished 2023, running rigging replaced, engine maintained professionally maintained annually. USCG documented vessel. Fresh water only.
