Description

A well-loved Kadey-Krogen 42' that has received constant care and upgrades. Popular 2-cabin/2-head layout. She is very clean and ready for her next owners. The entire boat has been Awlgripped, and all decks have been re-cored and covered with Griptex. There are NO TEAK DECKS! MORNING LIGHT has a 2018 AB RIB with a 2018 Yamaha 25 hp outboard, and is easily handled by her MarQuipt davit. Her teak swim platform has been upgraded to a fiberglass swim platform. All windows and ports have been rebedded, and there are no leaks.

Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you notice right away how settled and honest this Krogen feels—wide, protective walkarounds, a real Portuguese bridge, and bulwarks that give you confidence when you’re moving forward in a seaway. Inside, the raised pilothouse delivers that classic ship-like helm with great sightlines, side doors for quick access to lines and fenders, and a watch berth for long passages. The saloon and galley form a comfortable, homey space with proper sea rails and grab points where you need them. Engine room access is straightforward, with the kind of room around machinery that makes maintenance a realistic part of ownership instead of a chore you dread.

Why 42 in Florida

The Krogen 42 is purpose-built for the varied conditions you’ll find here—long stretches of open water punctuated by winding channels, tight marina fairways, and weather that can change quickly. Its full-displacement hull and efficient single-engine setup give you economical range for extended cruising between fuel stops, while the generous tankage lets you stay on the hook for days. The raised pilothouse, covered side decks, and high bow work together to keep crew dry and secure when afternoon chop kicks up. With two real staterooms and two heads, it’s an ideal platform for a couple hosting family or friends for seasonal cruising in this region.
