Description

"Freedom Rocks" is a Navigator 57 Rival model which "rivals" its own competition being the "classic" series by Navigator Yachts. Another fantastic design win by well regarded Jule Marshall and built in Perris, CA. Having built in excess of 4000 yachts, all in California, the Marshall family, California Yachts, and Navigator Yachts built a reputation of being American-sized yet sea-kindly hulls. This boat is owned by only the second owner who bought it through us 12 years ago. I worked with the original owner through this build who was a very experienced yachtsman and they set her up well....

Captain's Notes

Step aboard this 57 and you feel the “big yacht” presence immediately—wide side decks, a solid, reassuring rail height, and a bridge layout that keeps the skipper in the conversation instead of isolated at a tower of electronics. The salon windows are generous and low enough that guests actually see the water while seated, not just the sky. Many Rivals carry thoughtful upgrades: larger inverters, serious house banks, and smart storage solutions that make extended cruising feel easy instead of cramped. Engine room access is civilized, not an afterthought, with room to actually service what you own. It’s a boat that invites you to stay aboard longer, then makes it simple to do so.

Why Rival 57 in California

In this cruising area, conditions can swing from glassy to sloppy in a single afternoon, and the Rival 57’s hull form and higher-than-average freeboard handle that shift with confidence. The efficient semi-displacement design lets you lope along economically at passagemaking speeds, yet still pick up the pace to beat a weather window or a tightening tide. Visibility from both the lower helm and flybridge suits tight fairways and busy channels, while the generous fuel and water capacities are a real advantage where distances between quality marinas can stretch out. For a mix of long weekends, coastal hops, and the occasional ambitious passage, this model is sized and equipped just right for these waters.
