Description

Built by T+D Industries with an unconfirmed association with Lydia Yachts of Stuart Florida, MAHI DREAM had her original Detroit Diesel 12V71 TI’s replaced with 1150 hp MTU 12V183’s in approximately 2003. A further refit ending in 2005 saw Rybovich craftsmen replacing all of her interior joinery to a much higher standard than her original build. Subsequent refits included a new single fuel tank and cockpit sole in approximately 2019. Easy to see in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you immediately feel that this is an old-school battlewagon brought smartly into the modern era. The Lydia hull carries that deep, soft entry and broad, stable stern that serious anglers love, giving you a solid platform when the spread is out and the seas are up. The bridge layout is classic and clean, with great sightlines down to the cockpit so you’re never out of the action backing down on a fish. Inside, the custom joinery work gives the boat a warm, understated elegance you don’t often see on early-90s convertibles, with practical storage, solid hardware, and a layout that works as well for a hardcore tournament weekend as it does for a family cruise.

Why Sportfisherman in Florida

This Lydia Sportfisherman is particularly well-suited to the warm, mixed conditions of the region, where you might see flat calm one day and a stiff afternoon chop the next. The robust hull form and hefty displacement let you push out confidently to the edge, while the efficient power lets you cover long runs to the offshore grounds without feeling stretched. Generous cockpit space, high gunwales, and a straightforward, no-nonsense deck layout make it easy to work kites, live bait, and trolling spreads common in these waters, yet the comfortable interior turns those multi-day canyon or island trips into genuinely relaxed time off the dock.
