Description

This beautiful classic Davis trawler has had a number of major upgrades and additions completed over the last 10-15 years. It started out as a 1979 54' Davis trawler. The owners added 8 feet of cockpit and swim step to its length by a reputable boat yard in Tacoma, WA. The current owners added a tender davit system with a 2005 14' Palmer-Voyager tender with outboard on the stern. Many upgrades include new appliances, granite counter tops in Galley, new cabinetry in salon with pop up TV, new washer/dryer, new heads, counter tops, shower stalls and cabinetry in both heads. Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you’ll feel the difference in volume that these older trawler hulls deliver—wide side decks, a serious foredeck, and a pilothouse you can actually work in. The extended cockpit isn’t just for looks; it’s a proper fishing, crabbing, and deck‑chair zone with easy water access for swimmers and divers. Up top, the flybridge offers excellent sightlines for threading tight fairways or watching the sunset under way. Inside, the joinery has that solid, ship‑like feel you don’t get in newer production boats, with real doors, stout handholds, and generous storage tucked everywhere. It’s the kind of trawler that invites slow cruising, long weekends aboard, and the occasional offshore hop when the forecast opens a window.

Why Trawler in Washington

A classic Davis trawler is particularly well suited to local waters that mix tight channels, open stretches, and year‑round boating conditions. The efficient hull form is happiest at displacement speeds, sipping fuel while giving you a comfortable, predictable ride in chop. High bulwarks, a secure foredeck, and covered side decks make line‑handling, docking, and anchoring safer when it’s wet and breezy. Generous tankage, redundant gensets, and a proper pilothouse encourage extended shoulder‑season cruising without feeling exposed to the elements. Add in the enlarged cockpit and integrated swim step, and you have a versatile platform for fishing, crabbing, or launching the tender to explore coves and beaches that deeper‑draft boats can’t reach.
