Description

This beautiful boathouse kept classic was built by Philbrooks shipyard in B.C. Designed by William Garden and constructed of epoxy coated double planked mahogany epoxied between layers and an ironwood keel. Her proud heritage is reflected in the plans that are at Mystic Seaport Connecticut. Powered by popular 270 hp Cummins VT-555 diesel engines with excellent maintenance. These engines will power her well past hull speed and provide a comfortable cruise speed. Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you immediately feel the difference in a true custom build: wide, secure side decks, a proper Portuguese bridge, and a wheelhouse that gives you clear sightlines forward and aft. The interior has that warm, satin glow only seasoned mahogany can deliver, with joinery that still shuts with a satisfying click. Generous tankage and thoughtful storage mean you can actually live aboard and cruise without tripping over gear. The aft cockpit is large enough for crab pots, deck chairs, or a serious trolling spread, while the high bulwarks keep crew comfortable and secure. Underway, her deep hull form and substantial displacement translate into an easy, predictable motion that keeps long days pleasantly unremarkable.

Why Philbrooks Shipyard Cruiser in Washington

This Philbrooks cruiser is built for the kind of waters where forecasts change quickly, channels are tight, and you’re often running in shoulder seasons. The raised pilothouse and stout hull give you the confidence to thread rock-studded passages or pick your way into snug coves, while the covered side decks and sheltered cockpit make line handling and anchoring safe in foul weather. Efficient diesels and a hull that’s happy at displacement speeds are ideal for longer hops between remote harbors. With a warm, well-insulated interior and reliable house systems, she’s equally suited to cool, misty mornings and bright summer raft‑ups, making her a capable year‑round cruiser for this region.
