Description

1989 carver Montego express cruising yacht. Very clean vessel. Finely tuned purring engines. Air, heat, water tanks, waste tank, outdoor patio for cooking. Vessel has never been cooked on inside of vessel. No pets either. Why we opted to sell floating condo for lake house for our pets. Very hard finding pet sitter. Vessel has been in storage last 2 to 3 years in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Some work on vessel is being done like anodes, light fixture in bathroom, one outdrive trim issue. Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you’ll feel that classic late-80s Carver build quality right away—beamy, solid underfoot, and laid out to make weekends on the water easy. The Montego’s wide cockpit gives you plenty of room for chairs, coolers, and friends, with a helm that keeps everything in easy reach. Below, the generous headroom and open mid-cabin layout make it feel bigger than its length suggests, and the natural light from the ports keeps it bright rather than cave-like. It’s the sort of boat you can actually live on for a few days at a time without climbing over each other, and the hull design delivers a reassuring, predictable ride when the chop kicks up.

Why Montego in Wisconsin

For this region’s mix of short day runs, overnight raft-ups, and longer weekend cruises, a Carver Montego hits a very sweet spot. The express layout gives you a protected cockpit for cooler shoulder-season days, while still being open enough for hot, calm afternoons at anchor. The beam and weight help it track steadily through afternoon chop, and the cabin offers real escape when weather turns or temps swing. With its moderate draft, it’s versatile enough for exploring marinas, rivers, and nearshore areas without constant depth anxiety. Add in the spacious deck for socializing and you get a practical, comfortable platform tailored to how people actually boat around here.
