Description

25' boat. Awesome pilot house to stay out of the elements that also has a cuddy cabin with galley, ice box and head with cassette toilet. Outrageously solid hull that was repowered about 5 years ago with a 2bbl 5.0 LX (Vortec) 220hp Mercruiser with less than 200 hours. New upper and lower SEI 106 stern drive unit with 2 years worth of warranty left, installed and fully broken in with 20 hours and a new 14.5" x 17 4 blade propeller. New manifolds and risers. Bimini top. Boat runs beautifully and is awesome for fishing and great on gas with a 118 gallon gas tank. Boat has trim tabs, electric...

Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you’ll notice how wide and secure the side decks feel when you move forward to handle ground tackle or set the hook. The wheelhouse has that classic, no-nonsense sportfisher layout, with excellent sightlines and just enough overhang to cut glare on long runs. The hull carries its beam well forward, giving you a surprisingly steady platform when you’re working a drift or trolling in a beam sea. There’s ample room in the cockpit for coolers, crab pots, or a couple of downriggers without feeling crowded. Underway, the boat has that solid, “on-rails” tracking you expect from older glass—quietly confidence-inspiring when the forecast turns out a little spicier than planned.

Why 250 Offshore/Sportsman in New York

This 25-foot pilothouse is particularly well suited to the shifting conditions you see in this region, where a calm morning can turn into a choppy afternoon. The enclosed helm keeps you dry and comfortable when the breeze kicks up, yet there’s still plenty of open cockpit space for working lines or hosting friends at the sandbar. The efficient deep-V hull handles short, confused chop with ease, making longer runs to offshore structure or distant bays realistic on a regular basis. With a generous fuel capacity and straightforward systems, it’s a practical choice for anglers and cruisers who want a capable, economical platform for exploring the diverse waters and weather found here.
