Captain's Notes

Step aboard this 40DC and you’ll feel the difference in volume right away—wide side decks, a proper aft cabin, and a salon with the kind of headroom that makes long weekends comfortable instead of cramped. The classic Mainship hull carries a solid reputation for predictable handling and efficient cruising in the mid-teens, ideal for relaxed passages instead of white-knuckle rides. Large windows keep the interior bright, and the split-level layout gives privacy between the aft stateroom and forward accommodations. The raised aft deck makes a great spot for deck chairs and sunset drinks, while the flybridge offers excellent sightlines for docking. It’s a boat that invites personalization: plenty of flat surfaces, locker space, and simple systems that a hands-on owner can easily update.

Why 40dc in Oklahoma

A 40-foot Mainship double-cabin is well suited to the warmer, mixed cruising grounds where you’ll see everything from shallow bays to open sounds. Its moderate draft makes it more forgiving around sandbars and skinny approaches, while the broad, stable hull inspires confidence on choppier days. The two-stateroom, two-head layout works nicely for extended stays at anchor or hopping between marinas, giving guests real privacy instead of convertible dinettes. Expansive deck space and a roomy flybridge let you enjoy outdoor living when the weather is good, yet the enclosed upper helm and bright salon offer shelter when sudden squalls roll through. It’s a practical, comfortable platform for boaters who want to spend more time out on the water than tied to the dock.
