Captain's Notes

Step aboard this mid-80s Hunter and you’re reminded why these boats became such popular cruisers. The cockpit is generous for a 34-footer, with enough space to sail shorthanded yet still entertain friends at anchor. Below, the layout is classic Hunter: a bright main salon with good headroom, a real galley instead of a token kitchenette, and a private aft cabin that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The beam carries well aft, which means a surprisingly roomy interior for the length. Under sail, these Hunters are known for forgiving manners, making them friendly for newer skippers while still rewarding more experienced hands who like to trim and tinker on longer passages.

Why Sailboat in Georgia

This Hunter’s size and design are ideal for the mix of conditions you’ll encounter on local waters. At 34 feet, it’s big enough to be comfortable and capable in a blow, yet manageable in tighter marinas and crowded anchorages. The moderate draft lets you explore coves and shallower shorelines without constant anxiety over the depth sounder. Ample tankage and interior volume make weekend or week-long cruises realistic, not cramped. With a reliable diesel and an easy-to-handle rig, it’s a smart choice for sailors who want to spend more time actually sailing and less time wrestling with oversized gear or underbuilt systems.
